Technics basically established the modern high-performance direct drive in the 1970s.

Technics.

Over 40 years later, their iconic designs have been dramatically revitalised with impressive results.

First formed in 1965, Technics came into their own in the the 1970s, with the introduction beyond Japan of the SP10, the world’s first direct drive turntable, which established high torque motor technology and showcased previously unseen levels of build quality.

The SL1100 and the turntables which followed, particularly the iconic SL1200, established the brand not only in the audiophile world but with early hip-hop artists. There can’t be many audio products which have inspired an entire musical genre!

Now with the reintroduction of turntable manufacturing in 2018, the wheels of steel are spinning again. The SL1000R and SP10R from the Reference Class range are firm favourites here at MAX.

We have all the range on permanent demonstration, the SL1200G and SL1210G decks along with the range of streaming amplifiers and SACD player.

Always happy to have a chat about all the possibilities Technics now offer.
