Wimm has created a complete eco-system of products which can be used in a variety of ways, whether a single box as a first step into music streaming in an existing separates set-up, or becoming the heart of a system integrating analogue and digital audio, video and streaming sources.

Not only is the hardware excellent, but Wiim has fully understood the importance of getting the control software and app right. A surprising number of companies have introduced software (assuming it exists at all) which is either lacking in features, has limited integration options or is clunky or over-complex in use.

What’s the catch? I’m not sure there is one.

Better performance and superior build quality are available of course, but at a price. But even for serious audiophiles, when used for multi-room music, a bedroom/study system and/or integrating AV sound, the Wiim range is definitely worth considering.
